Day 11: We had the breakfast buffet at Circus Circus. It was so-so. After that we went to the Liberace Museum. That was very interesting. It is funny because it is just this little building and store front in this strip mall, which does not look like it could be very secure, and yet the contents must be worth millions. Unfortunately, no photography was allowed.

After that we drove over to New York, New York and walked around the block. We did a lot of souvenir shopping, as Cheryl especially had to get stuff at the Coca-Cola and M&M Candy stores. Then we watched the lions at the MGM grand for a while. We drove over to the Rio because there was a display of artifacts from the Titanic, but the admission was ridiculous (like $16 each) so we skipped it.

We drove to the Venetian for dinner. It was nice walking around in there with the canals. I thought dinner was good. Dawn was adventuresome and had the quail, I believe. Then for the evening's entertainment we had tickets to the 7:30 performance of Splash at the Riviera. I had bought tickets earlier that day and the ticket agent and the show guide said that the 7:30 was the family show and 10 PM was "adults only". Well, either the ticket agent was misinformed or I can't imagine what they did for the 10 o'clock, because right away they started off the show with a topless number. Not that I mind bare breasts, but it was not exactly what I wanted to see with my sisters and step mom. Actually the topless numbers were kind of boring. There were a couple of pairs of bad implants in there, too. I definitely prefer the natural look, regardless of size.

Overall the show was pretty good, though. There was a lot of variety, including some good singing and dance numbers, and ice skating. They did "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" in which they were not topless but had on these colorful print dresses instead which I thought were far sexier. The best act was these three brothers who juggled. They were quite good and very funny. The finale was one of those metal spheres where the motorcyclists ride around inside. They had four of them going at once in something that was like 19 feet around. It was incredible how fast they go with hardly any space in between them.

After the show we finally did some gambling. I got Mary hooked on video poker while Dawn and Cheryl went and fed the slots. I lost my limit very quickly but everyone else did good enough to play for a while. We walked back across the street from the Riviera to Circus Circus. I went up to the room to write postcards while everyone else gambled some more. Cheryl and Dawn came up a little while later, but Mary kept at it. I had unleashed a monster...
