Day 6: The driving adventure continued. First I took some back county roads out of Palm Springs and we found this oasis in the desert. It was mildly interesting but I did not take any pictures. Then we avoided the interstate and headed up state highway 62. We drove through Joshua Tree National Monument. The Joshua trees were interesting to see but I missed the turn off to see the really big one. We did go up to this scenic lookout where you could see back across the valley to Palm Spring and Mt. San Jacinto.

We did see this really young coyote near the side of the road. We thought we were so lucky to see wildlife so up close that everyone took a lot of pictures. Little did we realize that we would see two more in the park. The poor things got acclimated to being fed by people and now they just sit by the side of the road and beg.

Cheryl amazed us all with her rock climbing. I was too chicken to try that.

From Joshua Tree we continued across the California desert on the two lane highway 62. We crossed the Colorado river at Parker, Arizona, then headed north along its banks. We stopped at Parker Dam. Then went to Lake Havasu City to see London Bridge. That was probably the biggest disappointment of the whole trip. It does not compare to the real Tower Bridge in London (of which I have pictures). I did not bother to take pictures of the London Bridge in Arizona.

We drove about an hour further and spent the night in Kingman.
