October 1: San Diego Wild Animal Park

Day 2: We woke up to a typical California morning, completely overcast. We drove about 20 minutes north of San Diego to Escondido. Took a couple of wrong turns, but managed to find the Wild Animal Park. We walked a lot in the morning, while it was cool and cloudy still. Then sure enough, like a typical California day, the haze burned off and it was sunny and very warm in the afternoon. So we saw the shows and took the tram ride to stay in the shade. I did not realize at the time I bought tickets that you can book a special safari tour that takes you on the back of a flatbed truck down in with the animals. W will do that next time. As you can see, we saw plenty of wildlife anyway.
