NOTES:
Rosters Expand For September! During the last month you may call up any eligible players to your major league
roster. There is no limit to the number of call-ups, as long as those players
do not fall under other restrictions (such as <20 IP or <50 AB total) and
are not used up. Note, however, that there is a limit in the game itself to
only using 15 pitchers at any one time. If you have more than 15 I will try to
accommodate you, but I recommend trying to limit yourself to 15 pitchers total.
Note that while you can call-up all of your eligible players, you do not have
to call up everyone. You can leave some scrubs in the minors if you do not need
to (or just do not want to) use them.
Always make sure you use the latest ZIP! Managers with the computer game must use the latest
ZIP when submitting .MGR files. You cannot use the any of the pre-play leagues
that were sent out or other older ZIP files. When making trades you must wait
for an updated ZIP from me. If you make the trade yourself, then the league
files get out of sync with mine and it will cause errors when trying to import
your .MGR files.
Major League Roster Changes Due
September 9. Please list all roster changes for September. Note
that with the expanded
rosters, it is probably easier on me if you just list everyone that you are NOT
calling up for September, and I will just assume that everyone else who is
available is in your majors. The major/minor status is
indicated on the roster sheet and your minor league list can also be found on
your Computer Manager Report. If you want, you can also list their individual
player settings, but final player settings are not due until September 24.
No
Roster Changes are Allowed After the Roster/Rotation
Deadline Each Month. Remember, the roster that you submit with your rotation is fixed for the
month and cannot be changed at the
September Pitching Rotations Due
September 9. Please list your starter for each of the 24 games in September. There
is NO day off before the start of the month; there are only 2 off days during
September: after games 6 and 15. Remember, starters require at least 4 days
of rest between starts unless they have a * rating from Strat.
The * rating can be found on the Strat roster report
and a list of all star-rated pitchers is posted on the website at http://www.lprezdente.net/baseball/2010/season/2010StarRatedPitchers.htm.
One of the most common mistakes that managers make is short-resting their
starters. Remember also that you can designate the relief availability of every
starter/reliever who is being used in a starting role.
This does not apply to starters who do not have a relief rating or
starter/relievers who are not starting (they will be taken out of the rotation
and considered full-time relievers). For starter/relievers who
are starting, you can designate their relief availability as NEVER, SOMETIMES, or AS NEEDED. NEVER will be assumed unless something else is specifically
designated.
Be sure to check usage! Remember If a pitcher has 47 or fewer IP remaining on his
usage, then the maximum number of games he can start during a month will be
limited based on the chart below.
|
In order to
Start this many games: |
At least this
many IP must remain: (No maximum set) |
At least this
many IP must remain: (With 7 IP Max) |
At least this

If a starter/reliever has less than 47 IP
remaining and they are being used as a starter such that the number of starts
they can make is limited by the chart above, then if they are making the
maximum number of starts allowed, they must be set to relief NEVER. In order to
have relief set to SOMETIMES, they must make at least one less than the maximum
number of starts. In order to relieve AS NEEDED, they must make at least two
less than the maximum number of starts.
Substitutes
for batters who might run out of AB/PA do not need to be submitted until
lineups are due on the 24th.
For
Managers With the Computer Game, you need only submit a .MGR
file with the major/minor leaguers and starter schedule set. Detailed
instructions on how to do this are posted elsewhere on the website, along with
a ZIP of the latest
